Description
Balanced Holistic: Assessing the Application, Process Diagram

Each applicant has constructed a structured application webfolio (from their e-Portfolio) against the university's structured Entry Profile. The student application system analyses the application webfolio, picking out and presenting on screen in a standard template those aspects that are relevant to the structured Entry Profile for the course. These parts of the application are priority areas for the liaison officer, as they help to identify the details of the offer to be made or whether the applicant might be rejected.

Outcomes are dependent on whether the applicant meets the criteria set by the admissions tutor, which are captured in the template. Outcomes are one from:

  1. Make unconditional offer (usually for those who have already taken A levels).
  2. Make conditional offer of BBB.
  3. Make conditional offer of: BBB OR BCC and attendance at summer school; requires evidence of mitigating circumstances for borderline academic achievement.
  4. Make advanced entry offer (into Year 2).
  5. Discuss with Admissions Tutor.
  6. Potential rejection; reason for rejection is selected by the Liaison Officer.
